.....and Finally GSCC Wins a Match! And what a win it was!!!! You might wonder what it is for a team if it wins just one game after losing so many. I guess, the victory gets even sweeter if it comes after so many loses, and such a hardwork and fight. But this victory also tells that no one can write off any team in cricbay. Its just a matter of time many of our lesser ranked teams start beating the champions.
The match may be a week old now but the excitement has not died. It was truly one of a kind face-off where the Warriors faced the HitnRunners and in the balance was four crucial points for climbing up the ladder. And, If one needed to sum up the match, the word would be 'Discipline'. If the WCW showed great discipline in bowling no extras and sticking to a good line and length, HitnRun matched it with the most disciplined day in the field - five run outs says it all. But the thunder truly belonged to Karthik who steered HitnRun to a decent total of 73.
Looks like this one was a toughie. But with the second round and playoffs round the corner it was a good exercise.
To find the answer to this question, one had to not only look at the historic points tables and the articles on the CricBay website but also search on the official CricBay yahoo groups.
The 2009 season is CricBay's 7th tournament - The 1st tournament was the 2006 season and the 6th was the 2008 Fall open.
I have been wondering about what makes a strong team strong. We often see in the forum or in the articles that "so-and-so" team is strong. In the brand of cricket we play, what really is a strong team? Here are some options that come to mind 1> The team that has won the most trophies 2> The team that has the highest cumulative ranking for all the seasons it has played 3> The team that has the highest win ratio 4> The team with the most cumulative MOMs 5> The team that has given the least walkovers 6> The team that continues to play and survive even though they win rarely
